Marina di Pietrasanta

Marina di Pietrasanta

Marina di Pietrasanta is a seaside resort in Tuscany, a hamlet in the municipality of Pietrasanta and part of the renowned Versilia Riviera, in the province of Lucca. It joins other well-known seaside resorts such as Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio and Lido di Camaiore. Blue sea on one side and mountains on the other, large beaches and super organized beaches and beaches, and then still lush pine forests, lively nightlife (here there are several renowned discos), and high concentration of bars and restaurants, trendy shops and beautiful houses to be a frame.

Marina di PietrasantaEverything seems to be there in Marina di Pietrasanta, a beautiful place, quiet and at the same time never boring. It only makes 2000 residents make it 2000 and during the beautiful days, not only summer, it fills itself with tourists and visitors. The town is divided into as many small districts: Fiumetto, Tonfano, Motrone, Le Focette. There are about a hundred bathing establishments, located along the beach and very well equipped. The urban center is structured in an orderly way, with streets arranged grilled and with the main street (Via Lungomare Roma) that separates the beach and beach facilities of immediate access to the sea, from the city center itself and other hotels. The coastal coast is practically all equipped with such establishments, born exclusively for tourist accommodation (and therefore hotels, bars, restaurants, nightclubs). The sea can be reached from via Lungomare Roma, through a series of green lots and narrow streets. The Association of Balneari Marina di Pietrasanta dealers includes 110 bathing establishments and assists its members through collaborations and services.

Sfondo Montagne - Marina di PietrasantaAt one time the entire Riviera, from Massaciuccoli to Poveromo, was a lagoon; an immense marshland, further reclaimed by Bernardino Zendrini,"Mathematician of the Serenissima Republic of Venice with the General Superintendence to the Waters", according to his project of 1735 (Report concerning the Improvement of Air and the reform of that Port), the most complete, and the one, which, in 1735. In particular, in Viareggio the aristocracy of Lucca began to meet, especially during the spring months, before the spa season began in Bagni di Lucca.

Arte Marina di PietrasantaThen there was Pietro Leopoldo of Tuscany, who divided into lots the forest territory (the so-called "Macchia di Marina"), then arrived the farmhouses and then the villas and fashion of the bathing establishments. The centuries-old tourist vocation of Versilia has certainly had an impact on the development of Marina di Pietrasanta, through the long and wide strip of sand that starts from the north, Marina di Carrara and Marina di Massa, reaches the extreme part, crossing Forte dei Marmi, then Marina di Pietrasanta, Lido di Camaiore and up to Viareggio.

Versiliana - Marina di PietrasantaMarina di Pietrasanta is also characterized by elegant villas and hotels immersed in greenery, with tennis courts and dedicated areas dedicated to sports and cultural entertainment. The villa that was once the Macchia di Marina is also confused in the thick pinewood (herberance of what was once the Macchia di Marina) by the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, known as Villa La Versiliana, and the park in which it is inserted, also called Parco della Versiliana. The villa, dating back to 1886, was part of a large stately estate owned by the Counts Digerini Nuti, who loved so much to host artists and men of culture: in 1906 it was the turn of the great Italian poet, who seems to have written the famous Vita Notturna - Marina di Pietrasanta"Pioggia nel Pineto" (Rain in the pinewood), ("Listen. It rains with scattered clouds. It rains on the brackish tamarisk and burned[....] And it rains on our silvic vólti, it rains on our hands ignores, on our vestments readers, on the fresh thoughts that the soul opens up novella, on the beautiful fairy tale that yesterday illustrious, that today deludes you, O Hermione?"), and that surely worked on the collection of Alcyone lyrics, and he let himself go to the naturalness of the place, so much is told about how he ridden naked on the horse along the nearby shoreline. Today, the area is also known for that summer living room, launched by Romano Battaglia, novelist and TV spreader: the Caffè della Versiliana and Versiliana Festival, almost 40 years of renowned meetings for cultural debates and current events, but also flavors, craftsmanship and music.
