park in Siena
|
Siena is one
of the most famous Italian cities in the world. Rich
in art, architecture and history. With just under 54
thousand inhabitants, it is located in the centre of
Tuscany, in a characteristic hilly landscape.
Its medieval historical centre is well known, with
the famous
Piazza del Campo, where the
Palio
di Siena takes place, and with the
city quarters all around, plus various other hamlets.

In the historical centre there is the ZTL (Limited Traffic
Zone) in force, and it could not be otherwise in a city like this, one
of the oldest in Italy. Not only that, Siena is also the first city on the
peninsula to have chosen to limit traffic within its medieval walls was the
three-year period 1962-1965.
Access, circulation and parking are limited to particular
categories of vehicles and according to the areas marked zone A and Y
historical and this is signaled in video surveillance by a system of
electronic accesses 24h. Transit is allowed in cases of need, such as
reaching the pharmacy on duty (public holiday and night) and in this case
the entry and parking in the LTZ is a maximum of 30 minutes, to be
regularized later with request to the municipality of Siena.
Access to hotels and extra-hotel facilities (including
holiday apartments) are subject to the use of taxis for people with
walking difficulties (only zone Y) and their own car (zone A) limited to
transit and unloading - loading luggage and people for up to 45 minutes and
subject to regulation / authorization of the structure. We recommend that
you ask the hotel for more information immediately after booking.
To visit the historic center of Siena you need to park
your vehicle outside the ZTL area. Parking in Siena is simple and the
service is well managed by a municipal company, which also provides special
rates in case of parking with overnight stay. Temporary permits for LTZs of
30 minutes to 3 days are issued by Siena Parking SPA (toll-free
number: 800 562 565 or phone: 0577 228 711).

the center from Porta Romana, located a few meters further ahead, near the
Basilica dei Servi. Comfortable for those arriving from SR2 (regional road)

South of the historic centre, near Porta Laterina and near the ZTL. South of
